Food in Sibu (part 1)

Yes, I am currently in Sibu, and for those who are stuck in the same place as I am, here are some places I've tried and the few MUST TRY places..

I am not exactly familiar with the roads in Sibu but I'll try to mention landmarks and buildings..:)

First place I went to was Ipoh Town, in the Bus terminal area, near the newly opened Maxis centre, the food there was goo and I really recommend the Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken Wings.@.@
Was really yummy, here see! see! :P

Most of their food on the menu was quite ok too, but if you ever want to order the green tea, be specific as that's the first time I had a cup of icky green tea served with sugar to me..yuck..dint like it..:P

Next was Raro, I tried out the western food there, and it was quite good, and the ambience was good as well!
Mushroom Soup, was slightly salty for me..but was..humm..good!

Chicken chop

Fried rice, i think this was the Indonesian Style,
personally I didn't like it, it has the smoky taste, some people may find it yummy.. :)

Triple Play, this was what it was called la..:P
Fried Calamari, Fried Chicken Wings and Fried Fish Fillets

Oh ya! they also serve freshly made fruit juices! the pricing was not bad, some what expected for Western Food. For those not fond of Western Food, they have eastern or Chinese dishes as well, do try it out when you can! :)

Next is Cafe Cafe, and they have 2 branches, on located in Giant, (at the big Giant, not the one in Sanyan xD) on the ground floor, where the ATM are and the other which is in town centre, right next to the Chinese temple opposite Rajang river. :)

They have quite a limited menu but it was pretty good, the service, ambience, and food. Cafe cafe has 3 levels and I heard that the 3rd uppermost floor can be booked for special occasion! *hint to them boys~

In the same row as Cafe Cafe you can find a japanese restaurent, Zen, and they serve pretty good food there! :)
Well, I sometimes get craving for Japanese food and there's where I go to in Sibu. :)

However, I do find the price a little expensive in these places i mentioned in the row of shops opposite Rajang river, so I've reserved it for special occasions!

I guess that's all for now~

:)

Scrambled eggs

Need protein for mornings? :)

Here is a simple recipe for the yummiest scrambled eggs~

Ingredients:
2 eggs
2 tbsp fresh milk
Pinch of salt
Dash of pepper
1 tsp oil

1. Beat eggs and all the ingredients
2. Fry in heated pan with the oil and make sure you don't over cook the eggs, once it starts looking all creamy and scrambled, turn off the heat and stir a little more.
3. EAT :)

Fried Kailan with Garlic and Oyster Sauce

One of my friend requested for some recipes that she can cook up and she is a new cook, so i'll start with a really really simple recipe for fried kailan with oyster sauce. I will slowly post up more recipes as I want to include step by step pictures as that's something I would like if I had to follow a new recipe. You can substitute the vege with any other vege you like and cooking is supposed to be fun, so do experiment! :)

Ingredients:

Kailan
Garlic, chopped, 2 cloves
Oyster sauce, 1 tbs
Oil, 1 tsp
Salt, Pepper, Chicken stock( I use Maggi's chicken stock)
Some water

Since I didn't know how to do anything last time, I mean how to cut the vege and stuffs, I'd say, just cut it how you want to eat it, it doesn't have to look like what you get in the restaurant, as long as you're happy. :)

When you finished cutting the vege into the size you want and removing the harder part of the stalk, you'd want to soak the vege with some salt for a while before washing it (like how you wash your rice). I usually peel off the outer part of the stalk and cook it together and its yummy! (many people don't know that it can be that yummy.. :P )

1. Heat the oil and throw in the chopped garlic.
2. Fry for a minute or so but you don't want to burn the garlic as it'll be bitter *yuck
3. Throw in the vege and then the oyster sauce.
4. Add some water, depending how much gravy you'd want and flavour with salt, pepper, or chicken stock.
*Do be careful when adding the salt as the oyster sauce is usually quite flavourful already~

SIMPLE SIMPLE SIMPLE~

Bella Italia, Kuching

I love going to this place, its opposite four points hotel. Once you enter the restaurant, the aroma of cheese and Italian food will make your mouth water! :) I find the pricing pretty reasonable too and although there is no halal sign seem in the shop, I think it is as I've seen Malay families dine in, for those who wants to be sure, there's no harm asking. :)
Pizza apollo, with chicken, mushrooms, garlic...super super yummy! :)
Some appetizer, some Bread Bouquet..Recommended also the one with the cheese, or pizza garlic bread. :)
Tiramisu, uhm...wasn't yummy :P For those who are bored eating yucky food in Kuching, and crave for some authentic Italian food,do try this place. :) Sorry for being inactive for some time, have been kinda buzy. :) With lotsa love, Daphenie.
